JAB Cattle is a first-generation cattle farm. We are family owned and operated in Northwest Georgia. My name is Joe Bailey and my wife's name is Amber. We met while attending Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Georgia in 2009 and married in 2013 in Ellijay, Georgia. 

Since the beginning, our passion for agriculture and cattle grew from living in Tifton and we knew we wanted to have a farm and raise cattle. 

Not even one year into our marriage, we decided to lease land with a family member and jump head first into our first true cattle operation. Growing the operation, I returned to the University of Georgia to pursue an education in animal science focusing on beef production where I obtained my bachelor’s degree so I could use the knowledge gained there to raise cattle and create a successful operation. While attending the University of Georgia, I worked for a Black Angus and poultry operation. While there, I gained even more knowledge about the industry that you are not taught in school and had amazing mentors. Upon graduation, I was offered a position in Nebraska working with Tyson Beef. Within two weeks, Amber and I sold our cattle, packed a small U-Haul, and headed to the Mid-West. While in Nebraska, Amber finished her Bachelors in business administration with a minor in accounting at the University of Nebraska Kearney. Being in the beef state, it was not long before the two of us missed having our own cattle and wanted to have the farm again. We decided it best to head home to start there and maybe come back to the Mid-West later on down the road. We left corporate America, came home, leased land in Calhoun, Georgia. We purchased the start of our new herd in 2020. 

As our farm has expanded so has our business model. In 2022 we decided to expand into the retail beef sector feeding cattle and providing affordable, quality beef to the public.
